DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! I sent my daughter here for a "professional" evaluation over a period of 7 weeks. The staff is horrible, they are covered in tattoes and piercings and have no care for your childs issues. They are insensitive and rude. A standard day at viewpoint looks something like this, you are waken up very loudly by a staff member and sent to breakfast, you then have no choice but to choke down their hotrible food. Afterwards is "school" for 3 hours, where they teach at a 3rd grade level. You get a 30 minute break halfway through where you can walk around outside with nothing to do but walk around in the grass. After school is another horrible meal and then gym. Viewpoint does not even own a gym, the patients are taken to the boarding school next door to use their gym for one hour. After gym its dinner and then "free time" where the patients sit in the classroom with absolutely nothing to do but sit and rot. Viewpoint center even breaks some of utah's state laws for mental health facilities. It is stated that outings in any mental health facility are a RIGHT to the patient, atleast once a week. At viewpoint, you have to earn the ability to go on outings through perfect behavior, less than half of the patients are actually taken on the weekly outing. On top of this, my daughter was even denied mail that was sent to her, this is also against the law. All of this for a price of $10,000 a week with insurance. How is this place still in buisiness? Please, for your child's sake, don't send them there.
I have worked with the folks at viewpoint several times and have appreciated their professionalism and the great work that they do with teens. I have worked with students that have come out of this center and seen firsthand the progress they have made at ViewPoint.
My experiences with Viewpoint have been nothing but positive. They work their hardest to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely. Out of those that I got to meet, the therapists, psychiatrists, etc. seemed to really know what they were doing with these kids. I was really impressed with the center as a whole!
I've been really impressed with Viewpoint Center in every aspect. Their nurses, doctors, therapists, and other staff are trained, experienced professionals who show a great eagerness to help teenagers stabilize and work towards a better future. Their facilities are quality and secure. With everything put together, Viewpoint creates a fantastic environment that's stable and safe enough for teens in a crisis. Overall, very satisfied.
I was here about a year and a half ago and I have also in a lot of other mental hospitals. Viewpoint was BY FAR the best one I was in. I highly recommend it because the staff were incredible. They were caring, supportive, helpful, and encouraging. My therapist Jessica was amazing and she helped me recover. I am so thankful for all of the support she gave me. As for staff, specifically Craig was AMAZING. He was the #1 person that I owe my recovery to because he was amazing and supportive, loving, and sooo much fun. He made my viewpoint experience so much better. I have kept in contact with him and he is still so helpful for me and so inspiring. We would talk about everything and I told him everything about my past and he never judged me for one second. He always knew just what to say/do to make me feel better. Brandon Park was also incredible and helped me A TON. He was inspiring and helped me so much and was so good to talk to. The kids were also amazing and helped me so much and we were so positive and supporting for each other. I don't know what I would have done without Viewpoint because they helped me more than I can even put into words.
